Cook (English)-Coquus (Latin) is where you will find cooking inspired by the Land of Cockaigne, a Pantagruelian celebration of food, cooking, cuisine, and gastronomy. We begin with FOOD, the raw material humans consume to meet the physiological requirements of sustenance, then to COOKING, the transformation of food through heat that prepares food to be consumed, to CUISINE, the way of cooking that transforms eating into an object of intellectual and aesthetic appreciation as a codified, formal and symbolic ordering of culinary practices, to GASTRONOMY, the study and contemplation of cuisine and its relationship to art, society, and civilization.
